Community involvement

The school enjoys and benefits from the support of its parent community. If you have any spare time there is always an opportunity to help in some area; either through assisting classes with reading, covering books, assisting in the canteen, or maintaining the school grounds. Your help is highly valued by the staff and is always appreciated.

All volunteers and helpers in the school need to complete a ‘Working with Children Check’ form. These are available from the office. All helpers and volunteers are required to sign the register at the office and wear an identification badge.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

We are extremely fortunate here at Dora Creek Public School to have such a dedicated and active Parents and Citizens’ Association. All parents and members of the community are welcome to attend.

Joining the P&C is a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

P&C meetings

• We meet on Mondays of Week 3 during school terms.
• Our meetings start at 6pm and go for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
• They are held in the school library.

Volunteer at our school

• helping in the canteen

• listening to children read in the classroom
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
• helping supervise excursions.
